DHES (Direct Heat Exhaust System)
The DHES draws cool air from inside the case and exhausts warm
air outwards. This prevents the fan from recycling warm air to cool the
GPU, which increases cooling performance.
Further the DHES lowers the air temperature inside the case, because the heat
of the GPU will be carried out directly.

		03/2006 FutureLooks: NV Silencer 5 (Rev. 3) While at stock speeds, the NV Silencer does not appear to be of great use but when overclocking the benefits of NV Silencer 5 (Rev. 3) are more apparent. So overclocking is definitely safer here. Depending o­n the GPU, overclocking would likely go even further although the chips would probably become the limiting factor anyway.

Auch der Preis von ca. 28,00 EUR kann Absolut überzeugen. Wer es also Leid ist, vom ständigen Lärm der Grafikkarte gestört zu sein, kann mit bestem Gewissen zugreifen. I couldn't believe how well it cooled my video card, and even though it technically voided my warranty with BFG, I will continue to use it because its just a better cooling solution. Both the heat sink and the fan play their part very well, dropping the termperature up to 20 °C in comparison to the original cooler of the video card. As regards the noise, we can say that it is practically unperceptible. So, we believe that the main characteristics of a cooler were easily met. We also consider it important to highlight the cost-benefit relation between the product price (U$S 40) and its top quality. It is possible to get much more from the NV Silencer 5, though. 		12/2005 Hardwareoverclock: NV Silencer 5 Auch die 3. Revison des NV Silencer 5 hat keine negativen Überraschungen mit sich gebracht. Das was wir uns von diesem Kühler erwartet haben, ist eingetroffen: Die Montage war wie immer einfach. Der Kühler lag sehr gut auf, bedeckte aber nicht alle Speicher vollständig. Punkte Kühlleistung bemerkt man keinen Unterscheid, beunruhigend ist es für Nichtwissende trotzdem. Das Layout des Kühlers ist wie immer super. Verarbeitung 1A, Passgenauigkeit gehört noch geregelt. Die Kühlleistung war sehr gut, das wissen wir aber schon von früheren Tests. Der Unterscheid ist auf jeden Fall vorhanden, aber kleiner geworden. Vom Preis her kann man sich den Silencer leisten. Das ist uns der Kühler wert, deswegen kommt er auch immer rauf. Dieser Kühler gehört schon zu unserem System dazu. Jede Karte sieht mit dem Kühler wuchtiger und besser aus. Die Kühlleistung wird besser und das System leiser. Daher ist es schön, dass man sich auf so ein Produkt verlassen kann.

		11/2005 Insanetek: NV Silencer 5 The NV Silencer Rev3 is no joke when it comes to performance. The cooler is ridiculously easy to install, performs exceptionally well, has no compatibility issues with the card it was made for, and does all that with pure silence. But then again, what other aftermarket cooler doesn't take up another PCI slot? With the stock cooler, the video card managed a good 472/1130. With the NV Silencer 5 Rev3, I managed to up it just a tad to 475/1140. Although the increase was not a lot, it was still done o­n air and in silence! Owners of the 7800 series should not hesitate to make the purchase. Honestly, I cannot think of any reason why you should not run out and buy this.

Dass eine Reduzierung der Temperatur von 19°C mit einem Luftkühler möglich ist, spricht sehr für das Kühlprinzip von Arctic Cooling. Gepaart mit der sehr geringen Lautstärke ist Arctic Cooling mit dem NV5 Silencer Rev. 3 ein sehr würdiger Ersatz für die lauten Referenzkühler gelungen. Zudem fällt der Kühler durch eine sehr problemlose Montage auf und ist auch für einen Anfänger in Sachen Kühlerumbau geeignet. Allen Besitzern einer GeForce 6 oder GeForce 7 Grafikkarte kann man den Silencer nur ans Herz legen, denn er überzeugt auf ganzer Linie. Der Preis schlägt mit rund 28 Euro zu Buche, was aber bei der Kühlleistung und Qualität gerechtfertigt ist. Dafür konnte der Kühler sich mit 96% auch unsere Kaufempfehlung ergattern, herzlich Glückwunsch dafür.

The NV Silencer 5 (revision 3) proves to be virtually noiseless: even in an open test system it proves itself to be absolutely noiseless. Featuring 2000rpm fan, the NV Silencer 5 is not o­nly capable of cooling down the GeForce 7800 GTX quietly, but very efficiently as well. It is a dual-slot cooling solution, but performance increase compared to the reference cooler probably worth an extra slot.

The most important thing however is the decrease in noise levels where the NV Silencer 5 is not noticeable while working or gaming with your PC. 		08/2005 HardwareZone: NV Silencer 6 Another more evident sign that the Chaintech AE6800 Apogee means business is the unique cooler from third-party cooling specialist, Arctic Cooling. This cooler has all performed very well, in terms of both overclocking potential and noise/heat output. Arctic Cooling's cooler was almost silent and the cool operating temperatures allowed excellent overclocking headroom. With a higher clock speed, you would expect the Chaintech to have higher operating temperatures. That was not the case here as the massive but effective Arctic Cooling heatsink lived up to its name and the temperatures we recorded in our air-conditioned lab clearly portray its capability convincingly. The card is not o­nly not o­nly faster, but also cooler.

		06/2005 OCIA: NV Silencer 5 The performance is quite good, edging out my OEM cooler both when overclocking and not. The installation was very simple and rather quick. I would definitely recommend the NV Silencer 5 Rev. 2 to anyone with a 6800 series graphics card. Think about this; a $300-500 graphics card... a 6 year warranty o­n the cooler... it just sounds like good sense to me.

The fan is quite. o­nly a silence freak will need something more quite than this. Besides this, we saw that the NV Silencer has the best performance. The installation couldn't be easier. It's as simple as it gets. The silencer also includes the memories to the cooling and it costs under 30€. Great!

The Arctic Cooling NV Silencer 3 handled increased loads o­n the Albatron Gigi FX5900XTV 128MB video card with very impressive overclocking results. The Arctic Cooling NV Silencer 3 does work as advertised and does a great job reducing the noise level from the original stock GPU cooling fan. Overall, I was very impressed with the Arctic Cooling NV Silencer 3 and award MTB's Seal of Approval with a final rating of 9 out of 10.

Even if you do not plan to unlock / overclock your 6800, the added cooling the NV5 brings will o­nly help to prolong the life of your new purchase. BTW, the load temperature with the NV5 after unlocking / overclockin was o­nly 58 C.

Wer seinen "lauten" Standart Lüfter gegen einen Leistungsstarken und doch preisgünstigen Kühler austauschen möchte, kommt am ATI Silencer 3 (Rev 2) nicht vorbei.
