Thermodynamics
The Silentium T-Series is the first  PC Tower case, which in terms of thermodynamics does not follow the ATX standard of the mid 1990s. This case was developed from scratch based on the idea of noise reduction and optimal thermodynamic properties.

-Warm air emitted from the CPU cooler rise unhindered towards the top of the
case blown out of the case via 2 temperature controlled fans spinning at max. 1900 RPM. This stops the CPU cooler from simply churning the same warm  air over and over again.

-Cool air is drawn inside the case towards the CPU cooler and expansion cards. This allows for the temperature of sensitive components to decrease significantly.

-The power supply is cooled via 2 temperature controlled fans spinning at max.1900 RPM. Thanks to the lower position of the power supply a smaller airflow is sufficient for cooling.

Noise Reduction
The case has been designed from start with the goal to reduce the noise to an absolute minimum. Openings to the front of the case were intentionally left out.
Air exhaustion and power supply cooling have been configured for a high end PC, despite this high end configuratoin the system operates virtually silent.

I/O Front Connectors
Audio In and Out as well as two USB 2.0 connectors are included in the front bezel. The IEEE 1394 (Firewire) connector is optional

HDD Muffler
An a luminum frame muffles the harddrive noise and at the same time keeps it cool. The suspended frame stops vibrations from carrying over on to the chassis.

Power Supply
-Excellent Efficiency 75-80%
  Low heat generation
  Lower energy consumption
  Lowest electricity costs

-Active PFC (99%)
No humming noises even during high loads
No voltage peaks which cause efficiency losses
  No ripplevoltage in power network

-Rated Power = Continuous Power
Most power supplies provide only between 60-80% of the indicated power over a continous amount of time. Our PSU provides 450 Watt max. power for a short time and 350 Watt continuously.

At 350 Watt continuous power the power supply is well proportioned and will provide sufficient power for the highest demands for many years to come. Numerous in house and independant tests have proven that today's PC consumes at most 230 Watt (P4 3.8 GHz, Geforce 6800 Ultra).
As shown in diagramm, compared to over proportioned power supplies the efficiency of the Seasonic/ARCTIC does not plummit during low loads below 120 Watt.
The power consumption at a power demand of 280 Watt is for the Seasonic/ARCTIC power supply only 70 Watts compared to the 151 Watt of low cost generic 350 Watt model. This results in a savings of 120.70 $ over 4 years. (4h load and 4h idle per day 0.19$/kWh)

Torsionproof Chassis
The mechanicaly optimized construction using  0.8 mm SECC steel makes this case despite a reative low weight one of the most torsion resistant cases available.

Screwless Design
The screwless installation of expansion cards and disk drives allows for quick and simple assembly.

Long Service Life

The power supply is the most common cause of shut downs or system  instability .
Despite this fact in most cases low qualities power supplies are still found in today?s PC. The result are system failures after one to two years.
With Seasonic ARCTIC COOLING has chosen the best in power supply manufacturers.
All 4 fans use a special ceramic bearing which can reach a service life of L10 (@40°C) 137000h or a never before reached  MTBF of  163000h.

X bit Laboratories: Silentium

The results are excellent, considering the CPU cooler rotation speed in each of the modes. The cases are very quiet – I could only hear some noise in the CPU Burn mode and only at the rear panel of the case. The exhaust fans can only be heard if you put your ear right to them – the special shape of the blades makes the fan nearly noiseless even at the maximum speed. The exclusive ceramic bearing showed well, too. The Silentium system case was one of the quietest I had ever tested (at the default speed of the system fans). There’s no vibration at all, and the company’s 6-years warranty is reassuring, too.

Upgrade Advisor: Silentium T2

The Arctic Cooling Silentium T2 case is a non conventional case. Often when a company venture off the well beaten path and change designs, they fail. AC has done a great job with this case. It is very sturdy, has great air flow to keep things running cool, while also running very quiet. This makes it a great option for any desktop or home theater system. The staff member that helped with the drawing when we gave this case away at BoiseFragFest 2005 said it well when he said: "If you win this you are going to want to guard it with your life. You will never again have a case like this in your hands!"

Computerpoweruser: Silentium T2

T2 is an attractive case and very sturdy. Arctic's unique airflow design works well and helps contribute to the unit's low noise - the lowest I've probably seen in any nonfanless chassis design. Seasonic's PSU is a high-efficiency model and copes terrifically with most any single GPU configuration, although it has been adapted to this case and can't be upgraded .The T2 wins on quiet and innovation.

Hardware-Review: Silentium T2

In my entire career of doing hardware reviews and building custom PCs, I have never seen a computer case so securely shipped as this one. Arctic Cooling developed a custom packaging system that encases the Silentium T2 between two Styrofoam supports and rests the case on a thick foam mat to also ensure its not damaged during transportation. Overall, the Silentium T2 performed exactly as advertised. I was thoroughly impressed with the hard drive muffler cage, tool-less design, and modified power supply. The price was also exactly what it should be for this type of performance case. It's an excellent case for someone who wants a quieter system without doing extensive modding. I give the Silentium T2 an 8.5/10 and Hardware-Review.net's Seal of Approval!

CaseUmbau: Silentium T1
